Where: The Rossland Library in the activity room

What: Learn about 4 of BC’s species at risk through interactive, family friendly displays

Earth Day Seed Starting Fun

Where: The Rossland Library

What: Drop in to the Library’s Afterschool program and plant some seeds with Gill.


Saturday April 22nd

RDKB’s Trash to Treasure Day

Where: Your Street/Driveway corner

What: Place unwanted household items on the curb with a 'Free" sign that let's treasure hunters know that the items are up for grabs. Remember to bring all you unclaimed treasures back in off the curb at the end of the day.

9:00 am – 3:00 pm 

SPCA Bottle Drive

Where: Parking lot across from the Prestige Mountain Resort

What: Bring your refundable beverage bottles, cans and containers down to the collection station. Keep those containers out of the landfill and help care for shelter animals while they wait for their new forever homes.

North Jubilee Wetland Open House

Learn about the North Jubilee Wetland Restoration Project and Rossland Streamkeepers at the open house and education day.

Where: North Jubilee Wetland (near RSS)

What: Open house and tours of the wetland by RSEA members and information about Rossland's Streamkeepers program

Plant a Tree on Earth Day!

Where: The Rossland Library

What: Pick up a larch, pine or spruce seedling and plant it in your yard. Each seedling $1. Proceeds will help purchase bee friendly shrubs for the Community Garden.

Composting and Chicken Coops in Bear Country

Where: The Rossland Library

What: Come chat with Des Profili.  She'll share tips on how to compost and raise chickens safely and responsibly in bear country.

Rossland Real Foods annual Chicken Coop & Compost Crawl

Where: Chicken Crawl Headquarters at the Rossland Library.  Pick up The visit backyard composts and chickens throughout Rossland.  Crawl maps and brochures can be picked up at the Library between April 15th - 22nd.   Or download a map &  brochure attached below.

What: Visit successful backyard chicken coops and backyard composts at host homes throughout Rossland and get some great tips on coop building,  raising laying hens and different composting methods.

Where: The regular outdoor market location on Queen Street
